BIOGRAPHY
Endre Ady, poet, journalist, and short-story writer, was born in Ermindszent, Austria-Hungary. He came from an impoverished family of Calvinist ministers. He was educated at a Calvinist college at Zilah and later at a law school. He left before graduating to work as a journalist.
Ady published his first collection of verse, VERSEK, when he was 22. The following collection, MEG EGYSZER, gained him recognition as a writer. Throughout his life he published over 1000 poems in 10 volumes of poetry.
Endre Ady died in Budapest in 1919.
